Ingredients
- 1 medium onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 750g mix of pork, veal, and beef
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs

- 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 cups chicken stock

- pepper

Instructions
- Grind the onion and garlic together.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat mix, ground onion/garlic, olive oil, breadcrumbs, paprika, parsley, and dry mint.
- Mix thoroughly and form into approximately 12 meatballs, flattening them slightly.
- Optional: Allow meatballs to set in the refrigerator.
- Prepare the sauce by whisking together the tomato sauce, chicken stock, salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
- Slice potatoes into medium-thick fry shapes and arrange them in the bottom of a casserole dish.
- Place the meatballs on top of the potato layer.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the meatballs and potatoes.
- Bake in a 450°F oven for approximately one hour.
- Allow the dish to rest for 30 minutes before serving.
Recipe Notes
The meat mixture can be done with all ground beef if preferred. For the dry mint, the creator suggests drying fresh mint leaves on a counter for a few days before use.
